Las Vegas Airport Terror Threat: Traveler Arrested After ‘Trump 2024’ Remark

On August 10, 2023, a 40-year-old man was arrested at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas after making a terrorist threat and shouting “Trump 2024.” According to police, the man, identified as David Sadek, made the threat while going through a security checkpoint.

Sadek was reportedly stopped by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents because he set off the metal detector. When agents asked him to step aside for a pat-down, Sadek allegedly became agitated and began yelling. He then made the terrorist threat and the “Trump 2024” remark.

Police Response

TSA agents immediately alerted Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers. Officers responded to the scene and arrested Sadek. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

LVMPD Capt. Jason Letkiewicz said in a statement that “There is zero tolerance for this type of behavior at our airport.” He added that “The safety of our passengers and employees is our top priority.”

Sadek’s Criminal History

According to court documents, Sadek has a criminal history in multiple states. In 2011, he was convicted of making terroristic threats in Florida. He was also convicted of battery and disorderly conduct in California in 2015.

Sadek is scheduled to appear in court on August 11, 2023, for a preliminary hearing.
